Tight back, neck or shoulders
If you spend many hours sitting, driving, standing at work or notice muscular stiffness, I usually consider a manual approach with quiromassage or therapeutic massage, adapting the pressure to you.
Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Japanese Medicine, quiromassage and manual techniques with individual care in Tossa de Mar.
I have worked in Tossa de Mar since 1994, combining experience, listening and different techniques according to the needs of each session.

Many people simply come to me saying “my back feels tight”, “my neck hurts from sitting for so many hours”, “my shoulders get very tense”, “my legs feel heavy after walking” or “I need to stop for a while and release some tension”. It is also common to come with lower-back discomfort, muscular overload, stiffness on waking, tension after long hours standing, tired legs, a feeling of heaviness, contractures, post-exercise discomfort, reduced mobility, accumulated physical fatigue or because it is hard to switch off and relax. Sometimes there is no single clear complaint: you may simply feel more tense than usual, sleep less well, carry stress or have been putting up with small discomforts for too long. You do not need to know which treatment to ask for or arrive with a diagnosis. Telling me what you notice, how long it has been there and what concerns you is enough to start. I listen first, assess how you are and then suggest the type of work that may fit you best.
If you spend many hours sitting, driving, standing at work or notice muscular stiffness, I usually consider a manual approach with quiromassage or therapeutic massage, adapting the pressure to you.
For tired legs or overloaded muscles after physical activity, I can orient the session towards sports massage, always taking recent injuries and the timing of the effort into account.
Depending on your background and what you feel, I can consider gentler techniques such as lymphatic drainage, circulatory massage or foot reflexology.
Acupuncture is one of my two main areas of work. In some cases I may use it on its own and, in others, combine it with manual techniques when I consider that appropriate.
If you have an acute injury, significant symptoms or an active illness, I will tell you clearly when it is better to consult a healthcare professional first.
I’m Laura

Over the years I have continued to expand my training because I have always wanted to understand clearly what I am doing and why. I did not study to collect certificates or display them, but to work safely, thoughtfully and with respect for each person.
My training in Traditional Chinese Medicine lasted five years and included anatomy, pathophysiology, interpretation of blood tests, X-rays and other subjects related to how the human body works. I also completed practical and complementary training that helped me understand anatomy and the processes that may lie behind certain symptoms more clearly.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is now one of the main foundations of my work. Before deciding how to approach a session, I carry out an assessment according to its traditional principles, which may include observing the tongue, taking Chinese pulses and having a detailed conversation about what the person is experiencing.
For me, that assessment is especially important. It is not simply a matter of placing needles according to the same protocol for everyone. I try to understand what is happening within the framework of Traditional Chinese Medicine and adapt each session to the person in front of me.
Over the years I have also specialised in different Japanese Medicine techniques, which complement my TCM training and give me different ways of working depending on each case.
I have worked with people experiencing very different problems: muscular discomfort, stress, sleep difficulties and other more complex situations. When someone is living with an illness or following medical treatment, my work is always complementary and never a substitute for diagnosis, monitoring or treatment by healthcare professionals.
I do not believe that knowing more means having more certificates hanging on a wall. For me, it means continuing to study, recognising my limits and working with as much care as possible.
You can learn more about how I work with Traditional Chinese Medicine in Tossa de Mar and about my training in Japanese Medicine.
Alongside acupuncture and manual therapies, I am also trained as an end-of-life doula. This is non-medical, human support for people and families during end-of-life processes, always respecting the role of medical, nursing and psychological support professionals.
If you would like to know why people commonly come to see me, you can read about common reasons for consultation in Traditional Chinese Medicine. I explain them without promising outcomes and make it clear when my work is complementary only.
My training has developed over decades, with particular dedication to Traditional Chinese Medicine and Japanese Medicine, as well as acupuncture and manual therapies. I do not display these qualifications as a collection of medals, but as part of the path that allows me to work with more judgement and care.

The qualifications displayed in the clinic include a Master’s in Quiromassage and a Specialist Technician qualification in Manual Therapies, together with other massage and acupuncture certificates.

I work with different techniques because not everyone arrives with the same need. Some sessions call for very hands-on work, others for a gentler stimulus, and others for a combination of approaches. I first assess how you are and then decide with you what makes sense to use.
If you are specifically looking for massage in Tossa de Mar, you can see quiromassage, therapeutic massage, sports massage, circulatory massage, lymphatic drainage, reflexology and infant massage options together on one page.
Quiromassage is hands-on work that I adapt to the area, the intensity you tolerate and what you are looking for that day. It may help release overloaded muscles, reduce the feeling of stiffness and restore a sense of mobility and rest after long days, sustained postures or physical activity.
Acupuncture uses very fine needles at specific points. I do not follow the same recipe for everyone: I first assess the whole picture and then select the points and, when appropriate, combine them with heat, manual techniques or other resources.
Auriculotherapy works with specific points on the ear using pressure, seeds or other forms of stimulation. It is a simple, localised technique that I can use on its own or as a complement within a session.
Moxibustion applies controlled heat to selected points or areas. I use it when I want a gentle thermal stimulus and always adapt the distance, time and intensity to the person.
Laser acupuncture stimulates acupuncture points without using needles. It can be an option for people who prefer a non-invasive approach or when I consider a gentler stimulus more appropriate.
Japanese Medicine brings together very precise and often particularly gentle approaches. In the clinic I may integrate methods such as Yamamoto and Manaka, and Shonishin when working with children.
Shonishin is a Japanese approach for children that uses gentle, non-invasive stimulation. Contact is adapted to each child’s age, sensitivity and willingness, without forcing the session.
Sports massage is aimed at active people, hikers, cyclists or athletes who accumulate muscular load. Circulatory massage uses a different rhythm and is approached from comfort and a feeling of lightness. They are different forms of work and I adapt them to the goal of each session.
Foot reflexology is manual work focused on the feet. I use specific pressures and manoeuvres mainly as a complementary technique for relaxation and wellbeing.
Lymphatic drainage is not a muscular massage. It uses very gentle, slow and rhythmic manoeuvres, and before performing it I always assess whether it is appropriate and whether there is any reason to avoid it.
In infant massage workshops I teach mothers, fathers and carers gentle, respectful touch. Rather than memorising a routine, we learn to observe when the baby is receptive and adapt the massage to their signals.
In some sessions I may incorporate aromatherapy or flower therapy as complementary resources aimed at comfort. They never replace the main assessment and are not used automatically.
I offer human, non-medical support to people and families going through an end-of-life process. I provide presence, listening and respectful support without replacing medical, nursing or psychological care.
General information about complementary therapies. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace medical or physiotherapy care when needed.
You do not need to know which technique to choose. You tell me what is happening and I assess how to approach the session.
I begin by listening. I want to know what concerns you, how you feel, how long you have noticed it and anything that may help me understand your situation better.
Based on what you tell me and my assessment within the framework of Chinese Medicine, I decide which tools may make sense: acupuncture, Japanese Medicine, manual work or a combination.
During and after the session I observe how you respond. I do not assume that what worked once should always be repeated. I adapt the work to your progress and to how you are at that moment.
If your neck, back or shoulders feel tight, your legs feel tired, you are carrying accumulated tension or you are looking for a complementary acupuncture approach, I listen first and adapt the session to what you need. My two main areas of work are acupuncture and manual therapies.

I have brought together on a separate page some real messages I have received from people treated at the clinic. There are comments in several languages, which is quite common in Tossa de Mar.
I am an Infant Massage Instructor and I support mothers, fathers and carers who want to learn how to massage their baby in a simple and respectful way. My workshops are not about memorising a perfect routine, but about learning to observe, touch safely and recognise when a baby is receptive and when they need to stop.
Infant massage can become a moment of contact, calm and communication in everyday family life. I teach gentle, adapted movements, always respecting each baby’s rhythm and signals.
The workshops are intended for families looking for baby massage in Tossa de Mar and also for those coming from Lloret de Mar, Blanes and other nearby towns on the Costa Brava.

My clinic is at Carrer la Guàrdia, 49, in Tossa de Mar. I see people from the local area and also visitors from other parts of the Costa Brava, Girona and Barcelona.
I answer the messages myself, assess each case and confirm the appointments. You do not need to know which technique to choose before you write to me. Tell me what is going on and I will honestly guide you on what may make sense to consider. I reply to WhatsApp messages received on a working day that same day.
That is the usual duration. If something needs a little more time, I will not leave it half-finished simply to stop at the exact minute.
There is no automated booking system and no payment on the website. We speak directly and agree the day and time.
Every body and every problem evolves differently. After the first session I can give you a reasonable estimate and review it with you.
I know unexpected things happen, and that is okay. If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please let me know as far in advance as possible and, whenever you can, at least 48 hours beforehand. That allows me to reorganise calmly and offer the time to someone else who may need it.
No. Tell me what you notice, how long it has been happening and what concerns you. From there, we can assess whether acupuncture, a manual therapy or a combination makes the most sense.
As a guide, individual sessions last around 55 minutes. This is an approximate time: if something needs a little more attention during the session, I will not leave the work half-finished just because the clock says so. I prefer to finish calmly and with common sense.
The price can vary depending on the treatment we need to consider. I prefer not to give you a fixed figure without first understanding your case, because not every session requires the same approach. If you want an idea before coming, write to me and I will explain how I work; during the first session we can assess the treatment and give you a more specific indication.
I cannot promise an exact number of sessions in advance. It depends on the reason for the consultation, its intensity or progress, and how each person responds. Every body is different and this does not work like a mathematical formula. After the first session I can give you a reasonable estimate and we will review it according to your progress.
I prefer to manage appointments personally. Send me a WhatsApp or call me and I will reply myself to agree a day and time. The appointment is confirmed when I confirm it with you directly.
